TheInfoPro, with Highline’s Terry Waters on Board, Tops $9M - cbl

DALLAS -- TheInfoPro has raised $1 million in equity, according to an SEC filing, adding to earlier raises totaling $8.25 million.

Last year, the New York-based computer hardware company brought in $7.25 million, and raised just over $1 million dating back to 2003.

Named in the filing are CEO Ivan Ruzic, Executive Vice Chairman and founder Ken Male, CFO Steven Adler; and directors Manu Bammi from New York-based SMARTANALYST, Tom Dent from Doylestown, Pa.-based HardMetrics, Inc., Ryan Ziegler from Lawrenceville, N.J.-based Edison Venture Fund, and Terry Waters from Austin, Tx.-based Highline Financial.

TheInfoPro offers advisory and subscription-based research services for the IT industry.

Ivan Ruzic - Chief Executive Officer

As the CEO of TheInfoPro, Ruzic brings a background in quantitative market research coupled with 20+ years of global experience in leading and building technology companies - through both organic growth and acquisition - to lead TheInfoPro's strategy and growth as a leading advisory and research firm for the IT industry. Most recently, Ruzic was the CEO of a venture-backed mobile application development company, but is best known for his contributions to the success and growth of enterprises involved in the build out IT infrastructure, a core market intelligence arena for TheInfoPro. Originally a native of Australia, Ruzic holds a Science B.Sc. and Ph.D., together with a degree in Information Technology. He is also a member of the Edison Venture Director Network and is affiliated with several VC funds and Angel networks. Public organizations to whose success Ruzic has contributed include: Borland (BORL), BEA Systems (BEAS), Novell (NOVL), Computer Associates (CA) and Monsanto (MON).

Ken Male - Executive Vice Chairman and Founder

As Executive Vice Chairman, Male - founder of TheInfoPro - leverages over 25 years of experience in the IT industry to work with Ivan Ruzic, CEO, to advance TheInfoPro's strategy. Steven Adler - Chief Financial Officer

As the CFO of TheInfoPro, Adler leverages more than 25 years' experience in business development and operations to ensure that corporate and customer goals are fulfilled. Prior to TheInfoPro, Adler contributed to the successful growth and project management of multiple organizations, ranging from small and medium-sized businesses to Fortune 500. As CFO of EdgeTrade, Inc., Adler successfully developed the financial model and supporting materials that led to the successful sale of the organization for $61 million. Prior to EdgeTrade, as COO/CFO of GoalQuest, Inc., Adler restructured the company and product management, resulting in a 36% increase in sales and 300% increase in net income. Amongst Adler's other professional highlights, he founded and served as CEO/CFO of Paperless Office Enterprises, LLC.

Manu Bammi
Founder and CEO, SMARTANALYST

Manu Bammi is Co-Founder and CEO of SMARTANALYST. Prior to founding SMARTANALYST, Manu co-founded PSi, a consulting and advisory firm based in New York and New Delhi, in 1989 and managed PSi's New York Office. Manu has over 17 years of research and consulting experience, and more than 12 years of experience with US-India market, trade, and financial issues. Prior to founding PSi, Manu worked for several years as a management consultant with APM, a New York based management consulting firm which has since been acquired by Computer Sciences Corporation.

Manu has been featured in Forbes, Crain's New York Business, and on CNN with Lou Dobbs; he has been quoted in InformationWeek, BusinessWeek, Fortune and the Financial Times. Manu is a regular participant at meetings of the US-India Business Council and The Indus Entrepreneurs.

Manu graduated cum laude from Yale University with a distinction in Economics.

Tom B. Dent
CEO & Board Member, HardMetrics, Inc

Tom B. Dent has over 35 years of experience managing operations and doing transactions in emerging technology companies, holding key positions in sales, marketing and senior corporate management for both domestic and international companies. He has had responsibility for business operations in venture backed turnarounds, and high growth technology companies and was instrumental in the launch of three successful start up software companies. During that time, he raised over $60M in venture financing from top tier investors and was instrumental in numerous merger, acquisition and integration transactions.

Most recently Tom served as President and CEO of Lumeta Corporation, having been appointed to that position in 2000. Lumeta was a spin out of Lucent with a unique technology developed within Bell Labs that is now an award winning, profitable network security company ranked as one of the fastest growth technology companies of New Jersey. Lumeta customers include Fortune 100 companies as well as high visibility government agencies.

Previously, Tom was CEO of Quality Systems and Software, a high growth software development company founded in the UK that he sold to Telelogic, AB, an advanced systems development solutions supplier to the telecommunications sector that was recently acquired by IBM.

Tom also held the CEO position in a turnaround defense combat simulation and virtual software company based in Montreal. In addition, he has served in senior executive positions in an embedded software development tools company based in Stockholm, and a San Diego financial products and services company. He has held senior executive management positions in domestic and international public companies.

Tom received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from San Diego State University and was employed in the financial services industry at Merrill Lynch.
Tom currently serves as Chairman on the board of Lumeta Corporation. He is also a member the board of ClassLink, Inc. a company that provides 24/7 access to instructional software and files for K-12 education community.

Ryan Ziegler
Principal, Edison Venture Fund

Ryan Ziegler leads and evaluates investments in the interactive marketing and digital media, financial services and business service sectors. On a regional basis he helps to head up Edison's New York City office and covers firms' activities in New Jersey and New York.

Ryan is an active member in many venture industry networking organizations in the Mid-Atlantic region. He is a frequent speaker at entrepreneurial events, technology conferences and financing seminars.

Prior Experience

As Principal, he sourced or evaluated new investments in over a dozen Edison investments. These include Blue Cod, BFS, CheckpointHR, EdgeTrade, FolioDynamix, Giant Realm, M5 Networks, Operative, PlumChoice, Scivantage, SmartAnalyst, TetraData and TheInfoPro (TIP).

Ryan served as a board observer on TetraData (acquired by Follett Software) and presently for CyberShift, Giant Realm, Operative and TIP.

Ryan joined Edison in 2003 as Manager of Business Development. He managed and expanded Edison's extensive referral network of service providers, technology executives and capital sources generating proprietary investment opportunities. Previously, Ryan was in the Associates program with SEI Investments (NASDAQ: SEIC). While there Ryan worked in the enterprise sales, marketing and investment strategy teams serving multiple financial market segments. He launched a multi-billion dollar corporate distribution channel program for SEI's Enterprise business unit.

Ryan participates in numerous regional technology organizations and is on the board of the SIIA VC Group and the steering committee for the NYCVC (Young NYC VC?s). He also is a member of the NJ AngelVine selection committee for emerging businesses.

Terry Waters
President & CEO, Highline Financial

Terry was named President & CEO of Highline Financial on May 1, 2009 and has responsibility for all day to day operations of the business. Prior to Highline, Terry was a senior executive with Gartner (NYSE: IT), the world's leading provider of research, events and advisory services for the global information technology industry. Terry held several leadership roles at Gartner, including Chief Marketing Officer, with responsibility for the company's global marketing and corporate communications efforts, as well as President of their Executive Programs business unit, the world's largest family of subscription-based membership and executive education programs for senior IT leaders. Preceding Gartner, Mr. Waters was the Chief Operating Officer for ScreamingMedia (NASD: SCRM), a web-based content aggregation, syndication and business services provider. Previous to Screaming Media, Terry spent 14 years at Gartner where he oversaw the development, marketing and sustained growth of its core subscription-based product lines. Terry brings to Highline Financial extensive strategic and operational experience in financial services, information technology, business services and other sectors. Terry holds a B.A. degree from College of the Holy Cross.
