Compass Datacenters Buy Acreage in NC, TN for First Projects
Compass Datacenters has scooped up a pair of development sites in Research Triangle Park in Durham, NC, and Franklin Tenn.
Dallas-based Compass has already received OKs from the local planning board in Durham to develop three 1.2 MW data centers on the 16.5-acre tract. In Tennessee, the developer has been cleared to develop five 1.2 MW data centers on 14.6 acres.
"These properties will be the site of our first data center campuses," said Chris Cosby, founder and CEO of Compass Datacenters. "Nashville and Research Triangle Park are perfect examples of emerging data center markets that are under-served by traditional wholesale providers."
Cosby said talks are underway with prospective tenants for both locations.
