Chair, Vice-Chair of Business, Tax and Estates Section at Cantey Hanger
Doug Clayton has been named Chair, and Julie Bergkamp Vice-chair, of the Business, Tax and Estates section at Cantey Hanger LLP, Managing Partner Michael Appleman announced.
“We are pleased that Doug and Julie, both long-time partners in the firm, have assumed these roles,” Appleman said. “The section will continue to thrive under their leadership.”
Clayton’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, securities offerings, SEC compliance and other business transactions.
He received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Texas Tech University and he earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he was the senior editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy. In the community, he serves on the boards of Junior Achievement of the Chisholm Trail and TechFW.
Bergkamp’s focus is in tax and business planning for multi-national and local clients, from Fortune 100 companies to closely held family organizations. Bergkamp also represents a variety of health professionals with business regulatory issues.
She graduated magna cum laude from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts, and she earned her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law in New York. She has served as a board member for the Fort Worth Metropolitan YMCA and is a member of the UNT Health Science Center Foundation – Applied Genetics Committee.
