David Coffman, PG, CFM has joined Stantec as a senior geomorphologist in the firm’s Arlington, Texas, office. Coffman brings more than a decade of experience providing stream restoration, mitigation, and planning services for a variety of projects in both the public and private sectors. He is a Professional Geoscientist (PG) in Texas and Louisiana, a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), and holds a Level I Rope Access Technician certification from the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT).
Coffman earned his master of science in geology at Baylor University. His background includes a concentration in fluvial geomorphology and hydrology, specializing in stream restoration and mitigation assessment and design, hydrology and erosion monitoring, and sediment transport. He serves as a stream restoration committee member for the Texas Floodplain Management Association (TFMA) and is an active member of SPRAT and the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists (AEG).
A thought leader in geomorphic and hydrologic processes, Coffman has given seminars on erosion assessment and sediment management nationwide. His extensive technical knowledge and keen understanding of state and federal regulations will enhance Stantec’s Environmental Services practice in the firm’s South Central region.
