WHAT: In honor of Independence Day,C. C. Young, a premier, non-profit senior living community, will host author Beverly Thompson for a speaking engagement and signing of her book, The Colonel is a Lady. The book is a moving, real-life story about a woman who is in a class like Amelia Earhart; having served in the military. It is an account of Lt. Colonel Evangeline P. Jamison and her life as a heroine and heroic action figure Army nurse serving her country in three wars.Thompson, a former Red Cross volunteer during the Vietnam War, awakens audiences to the reality of life in the midst of war.
