TEN-HUT! Report to Equest at Texas Horse Park at 7:00 PM for Boots & Salutes on Friday, July 28, 2017. Join Co-Chairs Carolyn Anderson and Robin Lott at this first-time, USO-style tribute fundraiser for Equest’s Hooves for Heroes program which promotes the well-being and mental health of veterans and their families through equestrian therapies and counseling.
Boots & Salutes is a special evening of tributes to the men and women who have served our country to protect our freedom. The fun-filled, high-energy celebration will officially begin with a fly-over by a T-6 Texan, an American trainer aircraft used to train pilots during World War II. Dance under the stars and enjoy 1940’s-genre entertainment by J and D Entertainment, live Frank Sinatra-inspired music by Dave Halston, and boogey woogie bugle boy dancers from the Dallas Swing Dance Society.
Casual gourmet food stations, representing the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and First Responders, will be presented by Neiman Marcus Group, LUCK at Trinity Groves, Seasons 52, The String Bean, 3015 at Trinity Groves, The Rustic and Popstar Popsicles. Ice-cold beverages provided by Dr. Pepper Snapple Group and Oak Highlands Brewery will be served from the back of a pickup truck.
Sponsorships are available ranging from $1,500 to $10,000 offering a variety of benefits from branded picnic tables and marketing materials to providing event tickets for veterans. Individual tickets are $75 for guests or to sponsor a veteran, and tables are $600 for eight guests. Funds raised are matched by an HHSC veterans program grant which doubles the impact of every gift. Tickets and sponsorship are available at www.equest.org/boots or by contacting Christine Volkmer at 972.412.1099 ext. 227 or email@example.com.
Through equine-assisted activities and therapies, Equest’s Hooves for Heroes program, celebrating its sixth anniversary in July, helps veterans and their families transition from military to civilian life and excel as community members, neighbors, and civic leaders. The individually tailored program includes mental health counseling, physical and occupational therapy, therapeutic horsemanship, carriage driving and more. In six short years, Hooves for Heroes has helped more than 600 veterans and military family members at no cost, thanks to generous grant funding, charitable donations, and underwriting.
Boots & Salutes is made possible by La Quinta Inns & Suites, Digital 3 Printing, and SettlePou Law Firm.
