Dynofit Wins Innovative Healthcare Pitch Competition

5/22/17

Dynofit, creator and developer of the Flexdot™ system that helps monitor physical therapy progress, has won the second annual Innovation Pitch Competition at the 2017 Healthcare Dealmakers Conference.

The company, based in Carrollton, TX., has created the wearable Flexdot™sensor and smartphone system for physical and occupational therapy. Flexdot™ is based on a wireless sensor that measures signals emitted during exercise or muscle activation. When synchronized to a smartphone or tablet, the system’s apps and games allow patients and therapists to see measured results of the muscle activation. The Flexdot™ system also aids in setting and achieving measured goals and helps patients enjoy their physical therapy.

CEO Maria Schneider demonstrated the system during her pitch and beat out 13 other healthcare startups from across the country. Each was given 10 minutes for presentation and Q&A for the opportunity to win cash and in-kind prizes valued at $16,000 from Health Wildcatters and legal services from Polsinelli, an Am Law 100 firm focused on early-stage and healthcare industry companies.

“We are delighted to be selected from this field of impressive healthcare startups,” Schneider said. “The cash prize will help us continue to expand our market presence in physical and occupational therapy. As a Health Wildcatters alum, we look forward to the opportunity to office with our mentors and friends and to work with Polsinelli as we grow our company.”
