Dallas, TX - Rebecca "Becky" Gregory has joined Curran Tomko Tarski as Of Counsel in their White Collar Defense section.
In 2008, Ms. Gregory received a presidential appointment as the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas. Following her service as U.S. Attorney, she was appointed Senior Counsel to the Attorney General of Texas and Associate Deputy Attorney General for Criminal Justice.
After 9/11, Ms. Gregory relocated to Washington, D.C., where she directed nationwide anti-terrorism investigations, which often involved representing the United States before the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.
Prior to that she served as a state District Court Judge and Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas. As an Assistant U.S. Attorney, she gained significant experience in criminal, civil and appellate litigation. She represented many major federal agencies in various types of civil litigation and worked with federal and state law enforcement officials in prosecutions involving innumerable violations of federal criminal laws.
Her work in the federal and state court systems, as well as her practice before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court in Washington, D.C., give her a unique, insightful perspective and broad experience in the world of government investigations and litigation.
She received numerous Department of Justice awards and was named an Excellence in Government Fellow. She has taught courses at two recognized law schools and has published scholarly articles, is a member of The American Law Institute and has served on the Texas Disciplinary Rules and Professional Conduct Committee of the State Bar of Texas.
Her practice focuses primarily on criminal defense, including white-collar crime, internal investigations and government administrative actions.
