Hedge Fund Sponsor Holds 5.9% of Lewisville-Based Miner's Stock

LEWISVILLE --- Andreeff Equity Advisors LLC has reported a 5.93 percent stake worth $14.5 million in Uranium Resources Inc. (Nasdaq: URRE), according to an SEC filing.

The hedge fund sponsor -- headquartered in Baton Rouge, La., and with principal business offices in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. -- said it owns 5 million shares in the Lewisville, Texas, uranium miner. The stake's value is based on the stock's closing price of $2.90 on Wednesday.

Andreeff's stake is held through founder and portfolio manager Dane Andreeff, Maple Leaf Capital I LLC, Maple Leaf Partners LP, Maple Leaf Partners I LP and Maple Leaf Offshore Ltd.

Uranium Resources is led by CEO Donald Ewigleben.

Don B.Sc, DJur has been the President, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Uranium Resources, Inc. since September 3, 2009. Mr. Ewigleben has over 30 years of corporate leadership experience. Mr. Ewigleben served as the Chief Executive Officer in North America of AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. Mr. Ewigleben also served as the President and Chief Administration Officer of North America at AngloGold Ashanti since January 3, 2005. He served as an Executive Officer of law safety health and environment at Anglo American plc, an Ultimate parent company of Anglogold Ashanti Ltd., since January 1, 2006.
